Dear Caseworker—

It is my unfortunate responsibility to bring you today’s case file, containing something so foul, so abhorrent, the very sight has made grown men wail in terror. The…creature you will bear witness to today is unlike anything else you’ve ever seen before. Try not to scream at what you’re about to see. We do not know what it is, nor do we know where it came from. Given how it looks, the child (the word used loosely) known as “Chauncey” is undoubtedly a harbinger of doom. PLEASE READ EACH AND EVERY WORD OF THIS FILE FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION.

Remember: you are an employee of the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, and therefore, must be prepared for the worst.

This is one of those times.

In fifteen days, your investigation will begin. Do try and get some rest, won’t you?
